catchin up' =P

It's been a while since I've been here... and I almost forgot my password. well anyway, just droppin by to catch up a bit..

I was freakin busy for the past few days, oh not acads...though it's finals I still can't feel it really is, I thought it would be dreadful(finals) just like last sem but it isn't, somehow our teacher from hell stopped giving us those crappy assignments/(slash)projects, good thing! I was so preoccupied watching Gossip Girl and some Asian movies, it's really addictive(REALLY! =P)...I forgot the title of that movie (for god's sake it was japanese!), it was good though -almost made me cry T.T; and what's more, gossip girl season 2 episode 6 will not be aired until October 20! The horror, that's two weeks!

I'll give my reviews on the movies I've watched later(later = probably means never ^^).

XOXO

cute babies for stress....

Yesterday we just had another one of those useless guidance sessions, I say useless because we already know all those things that the proctor is blabbering about. The topic was about stress -their source and how do you cope with them. Talking about stress, the time that most of us students hope will never come is here; hell has just arrived -also known as finals! Yes, once again it's finals our last chance to do better from the past 2 grading periods and make our grades higher; but for those students who got one of those teachers from hell, the future may be bleak...very bleak. But hey, there's nothin bad from trying! You'll never know, the devil just might turn into an angel! So give it all you've got! Aja! Start studyin now!

But before you devour the text in your books and notes, take a few minutes to look at this funny vids; there's nothin better than a good laugh before entering the realm of boredom-"ness". :)

hahaha, never got bored of watchin those vids for like the nth time, such cute creations!! =)

What happened today

Today is Saturday, the 20th day of September 2008 and this is the first time that I attended a seminar that is IT related, I wasn't really excited about it though. There was nothin much in the seminar that will arouse your interest(for the non IT and non geeky people), but for the sake of saying it, here's my summary(and comments) of what was said on that forum:

(I'm actually referring this from a site I "googled"coz i can't remember some of the details anymore :P)

Open source is a development methodology, which offers practical accessibility to a product's source (goods and knowledge). Some consider open source as one of various possible design approaches, while others consider it a critical strategic element of their operations. Before open source became widely adopted, developers and producers used a variety of phrases to describe the concept; the term open source gained popularity with the rise of the internet, which provided access to diverse production models, communication paths, and interactive communities. [read more about it here: [link]]

They provided some examples of Open Source software, such as as the:

RUBY (Programming language) which has a very understandable english-like syntax, object-oriented, functional, and as what I understand almost everything seems automated [read more about it here : [link]]

GIMP, it stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program; this program as the name implies is an image manipulation meaning it is like the famous photoshop, and it is totally free(now you don't have to buy oneof those pirated photoshop cds')! [interested enuff? go here: [link]]

BLENDER, it is a software for 3D creation, really amazing. Now I know how garfield was made! hahaha [heres their [link]],

they had other examples too but I don't like talking all about it here, if you would like to know other contents of the seminar click this. (Seriously! Should I consider renaming my domain name to linkgalore.blogspot.com?)

Also, in the seminar there was this speaker(amateur) who was a blogger, and
he kept on saying "dili man gud mo ka-relate" trans: "it's so fuck*n hard to speak here, you all can't relate with me". He kept saying this while he was going through with his presentation and it got almost all of us pissed off. As a speaker it is also his job to relate with the audience, right? And by what he was saying it gave us the impression that he belittled us as IT people. From the looks of it he might really be a brilliant person but he seriously needs to develop his charisma and some speaking manners before he get into stage again.

After that tiring seminar our schoolmates offered(or rather we asked) us a ride out of the UM campus, -thank you upper year people :D. Then we ate at McDonald's, and someone said something that is groundbreaking!!! he said ........... hahahaha, what happens in McDo stays in McDo! =P

We've also watched this, enjoy!

//My opinions on open source will be discussed later on this blog. :D

Slow me down

Slow Me Down - Emmy Rossum Official Music Video
Uploaded by allcurious

It was months ago since I've heard this song, and I was instantly caught by it. Aside from Emmy Rossum's divine-like voice and excellent melody, the lyrics just amazed me -the song totally captivates me.

Here's the lyrics:

Rushing and racing and running in circles
Moving so fast I'm forgetting my purpose
Blur of the traffic is sending me spinning
Getting nowhere

My head and my heart are colliding chaotic
Pace of the world I just wish I could stop it
Try to appear like I've got it together
I'm falling apart

Save me
Somebody take my hand and lead me
Slow me down
Don't let love pass me by
Just show me how
Cause I'm ready to fall

Slow me down
Don't let me live a lie
Before my life flies by
I need you to slow me down

Sometimes I fear that I might disappear
In the blur of fast forward I falter again
Forgetting to breathe
I need to sleep
I'm getting nowhere

All that I've missed I see in the reflection
Pass me while I wasn't paying attention
Tired of rushing, racing and running
I'm falling apart

Tell me
Oh won't you take my hand and lead me
Slow me down
Don't let love pass me by
Just show me how
Cause I'm ready to fall

Slow me down
Don't let me live a lie
Before my life flies by
I need you to slow me down

Just show me
I need you to slow me down
Slow me down
Slow me down

The noise of the world is getting me caught up
Chasing the clock and I wish I could stop it
Just need to breathe
Somebody please
Slow me down

//end

I can instantly relate to the song (I think almost of us do), the world is going like lightspeed and the things that I want to do just piles up until I can't figure which is which. I want to learn almost everything, have to this, have to read that, -there's too much that I feel I have to do, yet I'm so limited by space and time *sigh.

Try to appear like I've got it together
I'm falling apart...
Tired of rushing, racing and running
I'm falling apart....

Yeah, this part of the song basically explains itself. I always try to appear ok, even though things are going horribly wrong. Even though I want to scream out loud and cry, I always try to constrain myself and has so far been always successful in doing it. Afraid to be labeled as such, afraid that they might worry, afraid to look weak in front of "them".

Don't let me live a lie
Before my life flies by
I need you to slow me down
The noise of the world is getting me caught up
Chasing the clock and I wish I could stop it
Just need to breathe
Somebody please
Slow me down
So helpless from the world's cruel call... asking someone to just snap me out of this endless rythmn, before I get caught up and totally be a part of it.

(emo much? NO!)

It's nice being here again. *feel good moment hahaha :)

I got tagged, and you just got tagged! =P

each blogger must post these rules first.
each blogger starts with six random facts/habits about themselves.
bloggers who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their six things and post these rules.
at the end of your blog, you need to choose six people to get tagged and list their names.
don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

1) Last night/morning I slept at 1:45am, it's my normal routine

2)I'm somewhat paranoid that I have a disease or somethin, I get nervous with almost every aches I have(OMG! what if I have this or that?! what am I gonna do!?)

3)I'm an atheist and considers myself overly logical, but I can't stop myself from following weird superstitions.

4)Most favorite food: broccolli, lasagna, dried nuts(any variety), dates, cookies, burger, lettuce

5)My greatest dream is to be filthy rich and help lots of people (philanthropic much?)

6)I hate people who think that they are ultra-mega-super intelligent, but in truth are just mediocores..
